Educational Program

Al Bassam Schools, which offer a broad academic bilingual curriculum with Arabic and English as two languages of instruction, strive for academic excellence, supported by a co-curricular program to develop holistic learners.

There are three main academic programs in Al-Bassam Schools: the Saudi National Curriculum, the British International Curriculum IGCSE and the International programs (PYP-IB) curriculum. Our schools are keen on accurate planning to implement the standards of these academic programs in a professional manner through annual plans resulting in daily lesson plans. These plans consider the three domains of learning: the cognitive domain based on the Bloom taxonomy, the affective domain based on Krathwohl, et al. taxonomy and psychomotor domain based on Simpson taxonomy. Therefore, we have been able to find comprehensive and balanced plans for the academic programs for all learning domains and for students at their different levels.

In addition, students are encouraged to take other English proficiency tests such as IELTS and TOEFL, if required, to be eligible for graduation.

Extra-Curricular and Co-curricular Activities

In the interests of the holistic development of the student, our schools offer numerous extra-curricular and co-curricular activities throughout the year which promote physical, emotional and social growth.  Al Bassam Schools offer an extensive After School Activity Program.  Al Bassam Schools also involve students in many sporting, cultural and academic activities which link directly to the curriculum including Sports Day, Student Open Days, Open House, United Nations Day, Standard Arabic Language (Fos-ha) Day, field trips, Model United Nations, Student Council, Makkah-Taif Trip, Winter Camp, SciTech Trip, EXPO, Small Library Initiative and various exhibitions.
